This is amazing. I have no other words for it.

As for the songs... good grief, it's going to take me a few loops. I definitely hear bits of oooh.. I want to say that's either Temporary Alliances and possibly Doomhammer's Legacy, with perhaps a touch of either Arcane Echoes or Carrion Waves to enhance the treble, though I also hear a touch of Bloodlust in there as well. The melody overlay is Bloodlust with touches of Temporary Alliances I think. I'm probably missing hint of Arrival at Kalimdor though; those are the only Horde focused tracks I know in WCIII, other than bits of the Cinematics.

And watch, I'm probably way off the mark. Shows how recently I've listened to THAT soundtrack...

Considering the remakes of this theme that Blizzard themselves did (Thrall's unofficial Theme in WCIII, then again on the WoW soundtrack as an exclusive track, and then again in BC's Escape from Durnholde dungeon), this original track saw a lot of remixing and remastering love.

But no one went back to the very root track and brought it up to speed. This does a fantastic job in doing that. This was my favorite theme from WCII, and while I was happy it resurfaced in WCIII and then again in WoW, none were the original. Even now, with Pokemon, WoW edition (*cough* er.. I mean Pet Battles, sorry), where they use some of the WCI and WCII raw tracks, they didn't do anything to it - if they had done what you'd done here with the orchestration, I think it would have kept the quality we expect from the modern Warcraft, while staying true to the nostalgia of the original track.

Well done!

Very nicely done - I did hear a couple of note misses, but it actually, for me, added to the atmosphere of the song - I could see someone sitting at a grand piano, preferably that stereotype "mad pianist" with the shoulder-length, fly-away hair, pouring their heart and soul into this.

Especially after Wrath of the Lich King, Stormwind has been a bag of mixed emotions - sadness, anger, tension waiting to lash out at the first possible moment. The military calm of the theme is turned loose and wild the way you've portrayed it, throwing that calm aside and digging into those emotions.

It's such a short theme, but you managed to make it feel a lot longer with its epicness.

Instant download, within the first 15 seconds.

One of my favorite WoW themes + 8-bit. That cannot go wrong.

This makes me feel like going back to play something like Final Fantasy and putting this in all of the inns/shops.

I love the way the drums are redone, and how you gave the song a little bit of extra personality while staying true to its nature. Excellent job!

This song is titled "Ulduar", a parody song (and video) written and performed by Summergale and Cranius of World of Warcraft fame, with a video done by Legs.

You may wish to give credit to Summergale and Cranius on YouTube, Warcraft Movies, etc., and on Summergale and Cranius' respective websites.

Wow.
I know the game in question, shockingly enough. I recognize the theme (though I couldn't tell you what part of the game it is), but I certainly don't remember it being this GOOD.

The blend of old-school and orchestra is amazing, and not something I hear often. Huge props for the blend, and for the reconstruction of the melody, it's not really a simple one to piece together unless you really know it well. To make a full 4+ minute song out of it is amazing. Fantastic work!

Gario responds:

Wow, one of very few that can say they know what this is from. Awesome - glad you recognized it, and thanks for the praise. :D

I've gotta ask, though - if you have access to the source at all, is there any way at all that you could give me access to it? This is one track I've wanted to improve, but lost my access to the source :(

Coming from a Sailor Moon fan since the 90s (so I'm old, what of it?) - as long as it WAS NOT IN ENGLISH (good gods did DiC BUTCHER this anime), I have to say it's hard to find GOOD remixes of the later seasons/Japanese themes (as opposed to the English *cough* "version").
You did a great job with this mix, from the instrumentation to the overall feel. I wasn't expecting the organ, and it was a great spotlight for a very under-used instrument. One of the hardest things to do with Midi (as far as my own experience) was working with drums, which makes all the difference in this mix as opposed to the midi of this I had back in the day - yours are done well. I have to say the piano work in the 1:35 area is some epic dissonant chord work, also.

For a "quick" "fun' thing from an anime you apparently can't stand, you did a great job with it!
My suggestion? Explore more stuff you hate and give it a shot; some of the most amazing work comes out of a hatred of the subject.

Unreal

This is amazing for an 8-bit composition. Brings me back to the good old days while adding a huge amount of "holy crap that's awesome" at the same time :) WELL DONE.

LOVE this piece.

This is a fantasic piece. A friend shared this with me and I immediately ordered him to send it to me.. instead he sent me here!

Michael425 responds:

Thanks you Briyanna. I'm glad you liked it.

also thanks to your friend. they have a good taste in music.

Very different sound...

... your remix is almost haunting, while keeping the original power of the piece. It is almost ghostly to me, as if it's the darker side.

I admit I never got this far in the game (I stopped on disc 3), but this is one of my favorite songs from the game, and I love what you've done with it.

Sephirot24 responds:

The organ I used sounds like a female chorus, maybe that's the dark feel to it. But I've been told in many of my songs and remakes that they have a "dark feel" to it, so maybe it's just me that I make dark music =P
You stopped at disc 3? You were very close to finishing the game! CD4 is VERY VERY short! If you like FF in general you gotta play again through it :) FFIX is very special, it has a unique charm, one of the greatest stories, and the most natural love plot.

Anyways, I'm glad you like it =D
Thx for taking your time to review! ^^

I compose here and there, but haven't composed since 2004. I am slowly but surely gaining the confidence to do so again, and have started converting old midis to mp3 to post here.
